Class T-Shirts for Sale March 10 & 11 |

The Junior Class is selling Class T-shirts as a fundraiser. Each t-shirt is only $15 and will be available for the Classes of 2010 through 2013.
Pre-Order forms will be distributed during Advisement on Friday, March 5. Orders with payment (cash or check only) will be accepted during all lunch periods on Wednesday, March 10 and Thursday, March 11. Juniors: Sell FIVE shirts and this will satisfy the Class Dues fee.
Need an Order Form: Click HERE to download. No credit cards accepted. Make checks out to Riverwood High School and include driver's license number and phone number.

Order Caps & Gowns Wednesday, March 10 |
|
Seniors can order caps and gowns during all lunch periods on Wednesday, March 10. Representatives from H & R Campus Supply are returning to Riverwood for the last time this semester and will be in the cafeteria. The cap and gown fee is $85. It will rise to $95 on April 1st. The 2010 Junior-Senior Prom will be on Saturday, March 20th from 8 to 11pm at TWELVE Atlantic Station. The hotel address is 361 17th Street NW, Atlanta, 30363 Tickets will be on sale at school during all lunch periods the week prior to the Prom (from Monday, March 15 through Friday, March 19)

Principal's Coffee - Tuesday Evening, March 16 |
Join Principal Eddie Echols Tuesday evening March 16th at 7pm in the Auditorium Lobby for an informal and casual coffee. Sponsored by the PTSA, this is an opportunity for parents to learn about school activities, accomplishments and issues. This is an evening event to accommodate parents who cannot attend a coffee during the day. The next coffee will be Tuesday, April 13th at 9am.

The Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education recognized Riverwood, along with 14 other Georgia high schools, for having an 85%, or greater, graduation rate in 2008 and also for improving graduation rates by at least ten percentage points over the past five years. Riverwood's 91.8% graduation rate for the Class of 2008 is an increase of 15.4% over the Class of 2003 results. Furthermore, Riverwood's class of 2009 had a 92.9% graduation rate.

CONGRATULATIONS to Senior Hamilton Stockton for wrestling in the State Championships on Saturday, February 20 at the Gwinnett Arena. Hamilton brought home the Silver Medal in the 145lb weight class. School Board Seeks Budget Input |

For the third consecutive year, Riverwood is an AP Merit School. The 2010 AP Merit distinction recognizes schools having at least 20 percent of the student body taking Advanced Placement exams and with at least half of those exams receiving a score of 3 or higher. Based on the results of the 2008-2009 AP classes and exams, Riverwood was one of only eight Fulton County high schools to received this designation. Congratulations to the students and the teachers for this outstanding accomplishment! |

Two Georgia Tech Presidential Scholars |

Congratulations to Seniors Jasmine Burton and Alex Kessler upon being named Georgia Tech Presidential Scholars. The President's Scholarship is Georgia Tech's premier merit-based award, offered to approximately 110 outstanding entering freshmen who demonstrate superb leadership skills, are among the top few in their class in academic performance, and show promise of continuing such performance in college and beyond.

All four semi-finalists from Riverwood fulfilled the requirements and advanced to the next round as finalists. National Merit Scholars will be announced in the spring.
