Meet the Riverwood Orchestra
The Riverwood Orchestra has several levels of string ensembles available to intermediate to advanced players. Students new to Riverwood must have had previous middle school orchestra or private lesson experience to enroll in string courses. Students that are interested in learning to read and perform music with no prior experience should consider enrolling in Piano Level 1.
Riverwood Concert Orchestra: This string ensemble is the primary orchestra for the school. They perform a variety of classical, modern and world music at school and community concerts.
Riverwood Chamber Orchestra: This string performance ensemble is an audition-only group which performs the highest level of classical string repertoire at school and community concerts as well as special events.
String Techniques: This is a review class for students needing to improve their string performance and note reading skills. Piano Level 1: This course teaches note reading and music development through piano performance. This class has limited enrollment to 26 students per semester and involves basic theory and piano recitals.
