Athletic Association Parent Representative: Cheryl Wyckoff
Cheerleaders promote school and team spirit through a variety of activities including making banners and signs, performing at pep rallies, and leading cheers at football games. Cheerleaders also serve as ambassadors for the school by participating in events such as Freshman Orientation, Open House and Experience Riverwood.

Head Basketball Cheerleading Coach, Vera Woods has been the Varsity Basketball Cheerleading Coach for nine years. In addition to Basketball Cheerleadiang, Coach Woods coached the JV Football Cheerleading Squad this past fall season. Coach Woods is from Newark, New Jersey and graduated from Spelman College in Atlanta. Coach Woods was a cheerleader in high school and a member of the school's pep squad, and played volleyball in college. Coach Woods has been teaching in Fulton County for over 20 years and is currently teaching at High Point Elementary School. Married to Bobby Woods for 28 years, they have twin daughters who graduated from Riverwood in 2006. Ashlee is a senior at Emory University, and Brittany is a senior at Spelman College. Coach Woods and Bobby are also parenting Coach Woods' nephew, Nathan McCullers, who is a sophomore at Riverwood. Coach Woods "loves working and mentoring these young ladies. What a joy and privilege it is to be a part of the Riverwood community and to make a difference in developing positive attitudes and leadership skills in these young ladies."
Assistant Basketball Cheerleading Coach, LaJuana Ezzard is in her third year as the Assistant Basketball Cheerleading Coach and her second year as the Assistant JV Football Cheerleading Coach. Coach Ezzard grew up in Atlanta where she was a Varsity Cheerleader and Mascot for four years in high school. Coach Ezzard attended Georgia State University where she received a BS in Early Childhood Education. She earned a Master's degree in Education from Troy State University and a Specialists Education degree from West Georgia College. Coach Ezzard has been married to Andre for 21 years and they have a daughter, Dorian, a 2009 Riverwood graduate, and a son, Deondre, who is in elementary school. Coach Ezzard teaches 4th grade at High Point Elementary School and is a National Board Certified Teacher and was named Teacher of the Year in 2007.
